Tuguegarao is a component city and the capital of Cagayan province in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines, founded as a mission pueblo in 1604 and chartered as a city in 1999. Its 2024 census population was 167,297, the largest in the region, and it holds the record for the highest temperature ever recorded in the Philippines, 42.2 degrees Celsius on May 11, 1969.
