The fourth-largest city in the Netherlands and the capital and most populous city of the province of Utrecht, its municipality located in the eastern part of the Randstad conurbation at the very center of mainland Netherlands and including Haarzuilens, Vleuten and De Meern. It had a population of 378,140 as of January 2026.
