Valsad is a city in the southern part of the Indian state of Gujarat, serving as the administrative headquarters of Valsad district near the state's border with Maharashtra. The city and surrounding district are known for extensive mango and chikoo, or sapodilla, orchards, and Valsad lies close to the Arabian Sea coast within a short distance of several beach towns. It functions as a commercial and administrative center for the coastal southern Gujarat region.
