Vianen is a city and former municipality in the central Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht, located south of the Lek river. Its historic town centre dates to the medieval period and was once surrounded by a defensive wall and moat; the municipality merged with Leerdam and Zederik on 1 January 2019 to form the new municipality of Vijfheerenlanden.
