Vikhroli is a suburb on the northeastern side of Mumbai, in the Indian state of Maharashtra, served by its own station on the Central Railway line. It is the site of manufacturing plants belonging to the Godrej industrial group and contains one of the largest mangrove forests in Maharashtra. The name Vikharvali appears in the fifteenth to seventeenth century Marathi-language chronicle Mahikavatichi Bakhar, and is thought to derive from the word vikhar, meaning poison.
