Virac is the capital and largest municipality of Catanduanes province in the Bicol Region of the Philippines, founded in 1775 and seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Virac. Its 2024 census population was 75,135 across 63 barangays, and the settlement traces its origins to a pre-Spanish community founded near the Vidak spring.
