Weisswasser is a town in Upper Lusatia in eastern Saxony, Germany, with a population of 15,002 as of December 31, 2024, making it the third largest town in the Gorlitz district after Gorlitz and Zittau. Upper Sorbian holds official status alongside German in the town, which lies within the recognized Sorbian settlement area, and a water tower is a notable landmark. During the 19th and 20th centuries Weisswasser was a center of European glass production, though it has faced economic difficulty since German reunification in 1990.
