Wuxi is a city in southern Jiangsu, China, in the southern Yangtze delta bordering Lake Tai, with a population of about 7.5 million as of 2024. One of the birthplaces of Chinese industry in the late nineteenth century, Wuxi has grown into a major center of manufacturing, electronics and biotechnology, while also drawing tourists to Lake Tai's scenery and landmarks such as the large Lingshan Grand Buddha statue.
