Yingkou is a coastal prefecture-level city in central southern Liaoning province, China, on the northeastern shore of Liaodong Bay. It covers a total area of 5,502 square kilometers, the third smallest prefecture-level city in Liaoning, and had a population of 2,328,582 at the 2020 census, of whom 1,228,198 lived in its built-up area of three urban districts and one county-level city. It borders the sub-provincial city of Dalian to the south, the prefectural cities of Anshan to the north and east and Panjin to the northwest, and shares maritime boundaries with Jinzhou and Huludao across Liaodong Bay to its west.
