Yokneam Illit, also spelled Yoqne'am Illit, is a city in the Northern District of Israel, in the hilly Lower Galilee at the base of the Carmel Mountains overlooking the Jezreel Valley, about 21 kilometers from Haifa. Founded in 1950, it became a local council in 1967 and gained city status in 2007, and is known as Israel's Startup Village for the more than 100 high-tech companies based there, which generate exports of roughly five billion US dollars a year. Its population in 2024 was 24,928.
