York

York is a cathedral city in North Yorkshire, England, with Roman origins, sited at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss. It has many historic buildings and other structures, including the minster, castle and city walls, all of which are Grade I listed. York is the traditional county town of Yorkshire and the administrative centre of the City of York district, located 27 miles northeast of Leeds, 90 miles south of Newcastle upon Tyne and 207 miles north of London. Its built-up area had a recorded population of 141,685 at the 2021 census.
