Zhuzhou is a prefecture-level city in Hunan Province, China, situated southeast of the provincial capital Changsha and bordering Jiangxi province. Formerly known as Jianning, the city straddles the Xiang River and covers an area of 11,420 square kilometers, administering five counties and four districts. It forms part of the Greater Changsha Metropolitan Region, also called the Changzhutan Golden Triangle, a major urban development zone in the province.
