Zibo is a prefecture-level city in central Shandong province, China, bordering the provincial capital Jinan to the west. Formed from the merger of several older towns including the ancient city of Linzi, once capital of the state of Qi over two thousand years ago, Zibo developed through the twentieth century into a major center for the chemical, ceramics and glass industries, and gained wider public attention in recent years for its popular street barbecue food scene.
