Indus Delta

Estuaries and Deltas

The delta formed where the Indus River meets the Arabian Sea in Pakistan's Sindh province, once a large expanse of mangrove wetlands now much reduced by upstream water diversion. Its shrinking freshwater flow has led to increasing seawater intrusion into the delta's soils.
