Comrat

Comrat is a city and municipality in Moldova, on the Ialpug River in the south of the country, and is the capital of the autonomous region of Gagauzia. It is predominantly inhabited by Gagauz people, who made up 73.54 percent of the population in 2024, alongside Moldovan, Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian minorities. As of 2024 the city had a population of 19,120 across an area of 164 square kilometers.
