All Landforms

Named physical features of the solid earth surface distinguished by their shape and the geological or erosional forces that made them: a single peak, a mountain range, a plateau, a canyon, a desert, an ice sheet, a reef, and the rest of the standard landform typology geographers use to describe terrain. The tree under this category follows that standard typology (major forms of mountains, hills, plateaus and plains, extended to the recognized minor and specialized forms). Does not belong here: a body of water, held separately even where the two are closely paired such as a river and its canyon, or a place defined by human settlement or administration rather than physical shape, which belongs under city, state or country.
