Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon on Navajo land near Page, Arizona, in the southwestern United States, carved into Navajo sandstone by flash flooding over thousands of years. Its narrow, wave-like passageways and the shafts of sunlight that reach the canyon floor at certain times of day have made it one of the most photographed slot canyons in the world, drawing visitors on guided tours operated by the Navajo Nation. The same flash flooding that shaped the canyon remains an active hazard, and access is tightly controlled for visitor safety.
