The Kola Peninsula is a peninsula in the extreme northwest of Russia and one of the largest peninsulas in Europe, making up most of Murmansk Oblast and lying almost entirely within the Arctic Circle. It is bounded by the Barents Sea to the north and the White Sea to the east and southeast, and covers about 100,000 square kilometers.
