Peninsular Malaysia

Peninsular Malaysia is the southern part of the Malay Peninsula in mainland Southeast Asia, together with the nearby islands that belong to Malaysia, making up nearly 40 percent of the country's land area at about 131,956 square kilometers. It borders Thailand to the north, faces Singapore across a maritime border to the south, the Strait of Malacca and Sumatra to the west, and the South China Sea to the east. Its interior is largely forested and mountainous, with most people and economic activity concentrated along the western coast.
