Helvetinjarvi National Park

Helvetinjarvi National Park lies in the municipality of Ruovesi in the Pirkanmaa region of Finland, founded in 1982 and covering about 49.8 square kilometers. Its Finnish name translates roughly to Hell Lake National Park, and it represents the wild forests of the Tavastia region with deep gorges and rugged scenery cut by faults in the bedrock. Its best known feature is the Helvetinkolu gorge at the southeastern end of Lake Helvetinjarvi.
