Las Palmas de Cocalán National Park, in the Cordillera de la Costa of the Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins Region of Chile near Rengo, was established in 1971 and covers about 3.7 square kilometers. It protects the Chilean palm of the Cocalan basin, a tree endemic to Chile and among the southernmost palms in the world that can live for over a thousand years, within the Chilean matorral ecosystem.
