Puyehue National Park, in the Andes between the Los Rios and Los Lagos regions of Chile near Osorno, was established in 1941 and expanded in 1950 and 1981, now covering about 1,070 square kilometers around the Puyehue volcano, the Cordon Caulle and the Antillanca group. Long the most visited national park in Chile, drawing roughly 400,000 visitors a year, it is known for natural hot springs reaching about 42 degrees Celsius in its Aguas Calientes sector and forms part of the Temperate Rainy Forest Biosphere Reserve of the Southern Andes.
