Queulat National Park, in the Aysen Region of Chile bordered by the Cisnes River, was established in 1983 and covers about 1,541 square kilometers of glacier topped mountains and Valdivian temperate rainforest receiving up to 4,000 millimeters of rain a year. Its centerpiece is the Queulat Hanging Glacier, part of an ice cap of about 80 square kilometers, feeding the dramatic Ventisquero Colgante waterfall.
