Dovre National Park in Innlandet county, Norway, was established in 2003 over 289 square kilometers of plateau and weathered, rounded mountain peaks rising from about 1,000 meters at the tree line to 1,716 meters at Fokstuhoe. Positioned between the larger Rondane and Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella national parks, it was created as part of a regional expansion of protection with the primary aim of safeguarding a habitat corridor for Norway's wild Fennoscandian reindeer.
