Orang National Park sits on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra river in the Darrang and Sonitpur districts of Assam, India, covering about 79 square kilometers. It was first protected as a sanctuary in 1985 and declared a national park in 1999, and it is sometimes called a mini Kaziranga for its similar floodplain grassland habitat. The park holds a breeding population of the greater one horned rhinoceros alongside the Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, pygmy hog, wild water buffalo, Gangetic dolphin and 222 recorded bird species including the critically endangered Bengal florican.
