Glenveagh National Park

Glenveagh National Park is the second largest national park in Ireland, in County Donegal in Ulster near the town of Letterkenny. Established in 1986, it covers about 170 square kilometers and takes in Glenveagh Castle with its ornamental gardens, Lough Veagh, and much of the Derryveagh Mountains. The park holds the largest population of red deer in Ireland and is home to a reintroduced population of golden eagles. It is managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service of Ireland and follows international IUCN standards for national parks.
