Garden Route National Park

Garden Route National Park is a coastal reserve spanning South Africa's Western Cape and Eastern Cape provinces near the city of George, established on 6 March 2009 by merging several existing protected areas into a single park of about 1,210 square kilometers. Around 605 square kilometers of that area is indigenous forest, and the park is known for its dramatic coastline and the Otter Trail hiking route. Split mainly between its Tsitsikamma and Wilderness sections, it also protects five lakes, numerous waterways, fynbos vegetation, and sites of archaeological significance.
