Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo West National Park, established in 1948 in Taita-Taveta County, Kenya, covers about 9,065 square kilometers and is separated from Tsavo East by the road and railway linking Nairobi and Mombasa, together forming the wider Tsavo Conservation Area. It is generally considered more scenic and popular than its eastern counterpart, drawing visitors to Mzima Springs, a maintained road network, a dedicated rhino sanctuary and rock-climbing sites along the Tsavo River. Wildlife includes eastern black rhinoceros, hippopotamus, Cape buffalo, African elephant, leopard, lion, lesser kudu and Masai giraffe.
