Dibru-Saikhowa National Park

Dibru-Saikhowa National Park is a protected area in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts of Assam, India, bounded by the Brahmaputra and Lohit rivers to the north and the Dibru river to the south. The surrounding area was designated a biosphere reserve of about 765 square kilometers in July 1997, and its roughly 350 square kilometer core became a national park in 1999, an expanse of semi evergreen and deciduous forest, canebrake and grassland that includes the largest salix swamp forest in northeastern India. The park shelters Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, wild water buffalo, Gangetic river dolphins, clouded leopards and more than 200 bird species including the white bellied heron and the sarus crane.
