Great Himalayan National Park

The Great Himalayan National Park is a national park in the Banjar sub-division of the Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh, India, established in 1984 and covering about 1,171 square kilometers at elevations between 1,500 and 6,000 meters. All hunting within the park is prohibited under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, and the park shelters more than 375 recorded animal species, including roughly 31 mammals, 181 birds, and a range of reptiles, amphibians, annelids, mollusks and insects. UNESCO designated the park a World Heritage Site in June 2014 for its outstanding significance to biodiversity conservation.
