Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park

Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park spans Kagoshima and Miyazaki prefectures on Kyushu, Japan, first designated on March 16, 1934 as Kirishima-Yaku National Park and renamed in 2012 after Yakushima became its own park, covering about 366 square kilometers. It combines an inland volcanic area around Mount Kirishima, Lake Miike and the Ebino Plateau with a coastal area around Kagoshima Bay that includes the active volcano Sakurajima.
