Langtang National Park

Langtang National Park is a protected area in north-central Nepal, established in 1976 as the country's first national park in the Himalaya and its fourth protected area overall. It covers about 1,710 square kilometers across the Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Sindhupalchok districts, an IUCN Category II park containing 26 village communities and the Langtang valley. Its northern and eastern boundaries adjoin the Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet, and it holds notable high-altitude features including Gosainkunda Lake at 4,300 meters and Langtang Lirung, the park own highest peak at 7,245 meters; it is also recognized as part of the Sacred Himalayan Landscape.
