Nagarhole National Park is a national park in the Kodagu and Mysore districts of Karnataka, India, covering about 848 square kilometers within the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. It was established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1955, became a national park in 1983, and was declared the 37th tiger reserve of India in 2003. Its forests, streams and hills hold Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, gaur, Indian leopards, chital and sambar deer, and the surrounding Western Ghats Nilgiri sub-cluster has been proposed to UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
