Black Forest National Park protects 10,062 hectares along the main ridge of the northern Black Forest in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, mostly between the Black Forest High Road and the Murg valley. It consists of two sections about 3.5 kilometers apart, one of 7,615 hectares around Ruhestein and another of 2,447 hectares around Hoher Ochsenkopf and Plattig, both within the wider Central/North Black Forest Nature Park. The park officially opened on May 3, 2014.
