Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park

Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park is a state-held natural preserve in northern and central Italy, established in 2001 across the Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany regions, spanning the provinces of Massa and Carrara, Lucca, Reggio Emilia and Parma. Covering about 227.92 square kilometers between the Cisa and Forbici passes, its mountain ridges separate Tuscany from Emilia and rise above 2,121 meters, featuring alpine grasslands, lakes and waterfalls. The park is noted for its natural features and for the local quality food products and handicrafts of the surrounding communities, and its wildlife includes Italian wolves, red deer, European mouflon, roe deer and golden eagles.
