Sila National Park

Sila National Park is an Italian national park in Calabria, on the Sila Plateau, established in 1997 and formally decreed by regional decree on 14 November 2002. It covers about 736.95 square kilometers, close to 74,000 hectares, across 21 municipalities and six mountain communities in the provinces of Catanzaro, Cosenza and Crotone, incorporating territory formerly part of the Calabria National Park established in 1968. Its highest points are Monte Botte Donato at 1,928 meters in Sila Grande and Monte Gariglione at 1,764 meters in Sila Piccola.
