Blafjella-Skjaekerfjella National Park

Blafjella-Skjaekerfjella National Park lies in Trondelag county, Norway, established on December 17, 2004, and covering about 1,924 square kilometers across the municipalities of Verdal, Snasa, Grong, Lierne and Steinkjer, making it the fourth largest national park on the Norwegian mainland. Its mountain plateaus, lakes, forested valleys and wetlands rise to 1,333 meters at Midtliklumpen and include undisturbed old-growth forest in the valleys, with Sami cultural sites such as settlements, sacred places and burial grounds, and habitat for brown bears, lynx, wolverines, wolves and Arctic foxes.
