Femundsmarka National Park

Femundsmarka National Park spans Innlandet and Trondelag counties in Norway, across Roros and Engerdal municipalities, and was established in 1971 over 573 square kilometers. Largely marshland and lake country beside Femunden, Norway's second-largest natural lake, it supports sparse pine and birch forest and was created to protect the lake ecosystem and forests reaching east toward Sweden. Wild reindeer live in its highlands, and a herd of roughly 30 musk oxen migrates seasonally between the park and Sweden's Funasdalen area; the region has also long supplied falcons to European and Asian falconers.
