Varangerhalvoya National Park

Varangerhalvoya National Park covers the Varanger Peninsula in Finnmark county, northeastern Norway, across the municipalities of Batsfjord, Nesseby, Vadso and Vardo, established in 2006 and covering about 1,804 square kilometers. Its lime-rich bedrock and blend of Arctic, Siberian and southern species support small deciduous woodlands among the northernmost in the world, an intact alpine ecosystem, and populations of reindeer, wolverines and the Arctic fox, Norway's most endangered mammal.
