Sierra de las Nieves National Park

Sierra de las Nieves National Park lies in the Sierra de las Nieves mountain range in the Province of Malaga, Andalusia, behind Marbella and east of the road linking the Costa del Sol to Ronda, with Tolox as its nearest town. It became a national park on July 1, 2021, when King Felipe VI gave royal assent to the Sierra de las Nieves National Park Act, and covers about 93,930 hectares, drawing roughly 100,000 visitors a year. The park holds the world's largest stand of Spanish fir, nearly 2,000 hectares of a tree that survives as a relict of Tertiary-era conifer forests and is otherwise found only in the mountains of Malaga and Cadiz provinces.
