Duinen van Texel National Park

Duinen van Texel National Park protects the dune systems of the Dutch island of Texel, in North Holland, the Netherlands. Established in 2002 and classified IUCN Category II, the park covers about 43 square kilometers, encompassing all the dune systems on the western side of the island together with large coastal plains at its northern and southern points. It protects a range of dune and wetland habitats that serve as a refuge for numerous bird species and marine mammals, and it also functions as a recreational area with walking and cycling trails.
