Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park

Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park protects the southwestern tip of Shikoku, Japan, across small areas of Ehime and Kochi prefectures, established on November 10, 1972 and covering about 113 square kilometers. Its central feature is Cape Ashizuri, the southernmost point of Shikoku, marked by subtropical vegetation and granite cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. The cape is also linked to Nakahama Manjiro, traditionally remembered as the first Japanese person to visit the United States.
