Kluane National Park and Reserve occupies the southwest corner of Yukon, Canada. It was established as a national park reserve in 1972, and an eastern portion became a full national park on May 29, 1993, together protecting about 22,013 square kilometers, of which glaciers and icefields cover roughly 83 percent. The park includes Mount Logan, at 5,959 meters the highest mountain in Canada, and forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its glacier and icefield landscapes. It provides habitat for grizzly bears, caribou, and Dall sheep amid its mountainous terrain.
