Torngat Mountains National Park

Torngat Mountains National Park occupies the northern tip of the Quebec-Labrador Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Established on July 10, 2008, it covers about 9,700 square kilometers, making it the largest national park in Atlantic Canada and the southernmost park in the Arctic Cordillera, and it contains the highest mountains in mainland Canada east of the Rocky Mountains. The park is co-managed by Parks Canada and the Nunatsiavut government and was created to honor Inuit relationships with a landscape known in Inuit culture as a place of spirits, protecting caribou, polar bears, and peregrine falcons across four distinct climatic zones.
