Waterton Lakes National Park

Waterton Lakes National Park is in the southwest corner of Alberta, Canada, bordering Glacier National Park in Montana, United States. It was Canadas fourth national park, formed in 1895 as the Kootenay Lakes Forest Reserve, and takes its name from Waterton Lake, itself named for the Victorian naturalist and conservationist Charles Waterton. Lying between the Rocky Mountains and the Prairies, the park covers 505 square kilometers of rugged mountains and wilderness and holds a diverse ecosystem.
