Isla Magdalena National Park

Isla Magdalena National Park protects Magdalena Island off the Aysen Region of Chile, created as a forest reserve in 1967 and reclassified as a national park in June 1983, covering about 1,576 square kilometers. Its highest point is the Mentolat volcano at 1,660 meters, the park receives roughly 4,000 millimeters of rain a year at temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees Celsius, and it has no infrastructure, being reached only by sea from Puerto Cisnes or Puerto Puyuhuapi.
