Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park

Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, in Llanquihue Province of the Los Lagos Region of Chile near Puerto Varas, was established in 1926, making it one of the oldest national parks in Chile, and covers about 2,530 square kilometers around Todos los Santos Lake and its catchment. Its volcanic landscape includes the snow capped Osorno volcano, Puntiagudo and Tronador, and the Petrohue River flowing from the lake creates the well known Petrohue Waterfalls; the park forms part of a roughly 15,000 square kilometer contiguous protected area shared with Argentina and shelters about 30 mammal species including puma, pudu deer and the endangered southern river otter.
