Villarrica National Park

Villarrica National Park, in the Andes of the Araucania and Los Rios regions of Chile near Pucon, was established in 1940 and covers about 630 square kilometers along a line of three volcanoes, Villarrica, Quetrupillan and Lanin, rising to 3,776 meters at Lanin. Its Valdivian temperate rainforest shelters pumas, culpeo foxes, pudu deer and the rare monito del monte, and the Termas Geometricas hot springs, some sixty geothermal pools reached by wooden boardwalks through a ravine forest, lie within its bounds.
