Volcán Isluga National Park

Volcán Isluga National Park, in the Tarapaca Region of Chile near Colchane south of the Lauca Biosphere Reserve, was established in 1967 and covers about 1,747 square kilometers between roughly 2,100 and 5,550 meters elevation. It takes its name from the 5,550 meter Isluga volcano, its highest point, among other peaks including Quimsachata and Tatajachura, and its high altitude cactus and quenoa vegetation surrounds Aymara ceremonial towns, including Isluga, that preserve the cultural heritage of the region.
