Peak

Peaks and Summits

The pointed or rounded top of a mountain or hill, the highest point on its landform, formed where converging ridgelines or a resistant rock cap resists erosion longer than the slopes around it. A peak is the generic landform type that every individually named summit, from Everest to a minor local hill, is an instance of.
